The Aloha for Hope Dinner Fundraiser is an opportunity for our church family to come together and invest in the restoration of women impacted by incarceration. Through mentorship, trauma-informed curriculum, and continued reentry support, lives are being rebuilt every day.

Join us as we raise the resources needed to expand this life-changing work. Hope Beyond, which began as a simple pen pal correspondence, grew into a strong friendship and an impactful nonprofit, and is one of VBC's local mission partners ($50/seat, $500/sponsor a table).

Men's "3 Club" 9 Hole Golf Event and Lunch

Men- Please sign up for our 9 Hole golf event and lunch on May 16th at the Pleasanton Fairgrounds Golf Course.

This event is for men and boys who have never played golf, play occasionally, or play regularly. The first tee-times begin at 9:00 AM and go off consecutively until all 10 foursomes have teed off. PGA Player and Teaching Pro, Josh McCarthy, will provide a free one-hour golf lesson on the Fairgrounds driving range adjacent to the first tee box. Lunch will follow immediately after golf back at VBC. To make the event more fun, each player will be allowed to take only 3 clubs of their choosing on the course.

The event is limited to the first 40 players who register.

The cost for golf is $25. The last day to register is May 1, 2026

Camping Connections @ Henry Cowell / Beach Train

We will be camping at Henry Cowell State Park, just a hour from Pleasanton. Located near a giant Redwood Forest, next to the San Lorenzo River, near the Roaring Camp Railroad.

These sites are going very quickly, as we have had already over 20+ families reserve sites. We are trying for sites in the south campground. For those interested, we are going to try to secure seats for the Saturday, September 26 "Beach Train", which will provide a round trip from Felton to the Beach Boardwalk, then back to Felton. You can join us on the train, even if you are not camping with us.

Beach Train

Load onto the Roaring Camp Railroad Beach Train in Felton, California at 9:30 am. The train will deliver us to the Beach Boardwalk, in Santa Cruz, at 11:00am.

This ride will be in both open and closed cars, traveling through the redwoods, the San Lorenzo River, down the middle of Santa Cruz streets, and finally arriving at the Boardwalk. Spend either one, or five hours at the beach. We then load up at either 12:00pm, ot 4:00pm, for our one hour return to Felton. Tickets will be discounted for this event on Saturday, September 26.

Every Wednesday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM, we gather in the Las Ventanas apartment community room to help a few Afghan ladies practice their English.

Teachers can be male or female. Sometimes we help with homework or learning the rules for driving, and some are learning to read English. It's a great way to make a difference in a recent immigrant’s life and a great way to share our lives and faith.

We invite you to join us for this 7 week class hosted by Brent Robery, one of our VBC elders and a licensed marriage and family therapist. The focus of this class is on mental health topics such as anxiety, depression, OCD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and other similar struggles.

This group is not just for people who are dealing with these mental health concerns, but for those seeking to help others who are dealing with these things.

VBC Kids Against Hunger Packing Event

Join the VBC Kids as we partner with Kids Against Hunger! The VBC Kids ministry is hosting, but anyone is welcome to join. Kids Against Hunger is a non-profit humanitarian organization with a mission to provide fully nutritious food to impoverished children and families around the world...and around the corner.

The organization's goal is for the meals to provide a stable nutritional base from which recipient families can move toward self-sufficiency, away from starvation or food insecurity. They often provide meals for impoverished families during emergencies and use meal distribution to share the Gospel all over the world!

Cost: $20 per person (Every dollar produces 5 malnutrition-fighting meals!)

Camping Connections @ The Jackson Rancheria Campground

Camping Connections will be heading to the Jackson Rancheria campground from March 11-16.

Located in the Sierra Foothills, just east of Jackson in the Mother Lode, this campground has been voted the best RV campground in the entire country. There is plenty to do in this area, including a heated swimming pool, hot tub, putting green, bocce ball, hiking, paddle ball, and much more.

We've also had people stay at the hotel in the past. This campground is exclusively for RVs and trailers. Please feel free to contact Wayne Johnson at sportwayne@aol.com with your questions or to sign up.

We already have twenty sites reserved, as this location sells out a year in advance.

Monthly Miracles is partnering with New Beginnings Church for the annual Christmas Miracles Coat Drive—and VBC is excited to help!

We’re collecting clean, gently used coats of all sizes (NB to XXXL) for families in the Tri-Valley.

Donations can be dropped off in the front lobby box at VBC from November 16 to December 7, 2025. Together, let’s share the warmth and love of Christ to brighten this Christmas for those in need.
